To take a slow and outdated looking website that was built on WordPress and rebuild it to current website standards. The Site was not mobile friendly, not utilizing SSL, it was lacking in content, suffered from many compliance and SEO technical issues, had very little SEO performed and very low visibility online. The images needed to be optimized, the meta information needed serious help and there was absolutely nothing to help speed up the site speed or mobile speed. The site was also lacking in quality backlinks and any local stack search engine results page (SERP) placement.

Keyword Research and competitive analysis with Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush and WEBCEO. They were completely missing any storage keyword that included the word units like storage units or self-storage units. There was no information on the website about the different kinds of storage they offered.
Onsite Optimization –We changed old WordPress theme to the Avada Theme, added Yoast SEO, Meta Titles, descriptions, sitemaps, 301 redirects. We created an account in Google Search Console to get the website crawled and make sure the sitemap was correct. We implemented structured data with All in One Schema Rich Snippets, moved site to https, and added h1 tags. We improved the site speed with Autotomize, WP Smush, and WP Super Cache. We included amp pages for every page except for the home page. We used interlinking to add link juice to pages sitting on page 2 or 3. A google map was added into the footer of the website.
Content Driven Strategy – We increased valuable content including headings and subheadings and branched out into different storage options. Then we created separate pages for boat storage, RV storage, auto storage, business storage etc. We regularly created posts on GMB for additional keyword optimization, backlinks and helpful information.
Marketing – We included several new pages that emphasized how they were a better company to do business with, from safety and security features to onsite management, available packing supplies, climate enhanced units, military discounts (we have 4 military bases in Colorado Springs) cleanliness and wide drives for easy navigation with a U-Haul, boat trailer or moving truck. We also included a virtual video tour of the facility.
UX - We structured the site and made the menu easier to navigate. Then we optimized for voice search, load speed, streamlined the contact form and made clear calls to action. We broke up content with headings and subheadings and made the site mobile friendly with the new site theme, and improved site speed as mentioned above. We also added easy to find pay now and reserve a unit now buttons to make it simple for customers to pay their bills online or to reserve a unit.
Backlinks – Disavow in search console of over 5,500 spammy and toxic backlinks, We listed the site on Synup to improve the NAP, we used Ahrefs, SEMrush and Whitespark to find additional ideas for backlinks.
