Apple Set to buy Beats Electronics – Apple has decided to purchase Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion. With Beats’ recently launched streaming music service and its broad appeal to the youth of America, Apple’s acquisition of the company is a relatively logical and straightforward move compared to some other recent transaction (like Facebook buying Oculus) but is still taking them in a direction with which they’re not entirely familiar. Although they have obviously been in the hardware business for quite some time, headphones seem to be a bit low-tech for Apple to spend that kind of money on it. What other technology will they be creating with this new purchase? Your guess is as good as mine.
Apple’s new iPhone revealed in August – The iPhone 6 should be unveiled in August, according to a new report. The newest iteration of the iPhone has had a storm of rumors swirl around it since the release of the iPhone 5s and 5c on everything from processor speed to screen size to release date. If half of these rumors are true, the iPhone 6 will be the most impressive cellular device in history.
Apple hires Nokia’s Camera Expert – The brilliant mind behind the camera of the Nokia Lumina has left the company (recently acquired by Microsoft) to work for Apple. With Apple’s other recent news, this adds another layer of wonderment to what Apple is working on right now. My guess? A virtual reality system to rival Sony and Oculus. Time will tell.
