Case profile
After a heavy site redesign, we tracked the lost pages and put the vital 301 redirects in place. We then built a fully optimized website with everything Google looks for: meta descriptions, titles, alt tags and more. From there we improved site speed and added content around each individual service, and results improved drastically.
The challenge
A redesign that changes URLs without redirects can erase years of rankings in a week. This practice launched a new site and needed to protect the equity of the old one while building the new site into something better. The service pages also needed real content; the redesign had left many of them as a heading and a sentence.
What we did
- Crawled the old site and mapped every lost URL to its new home with 301 redirects.
- Rewrote titles, meta descriptions and image alt text across the site.
- Speed improvements through image optimization and caching.
- Service-specific content for each treatment the practice offers.
- Local SEO to support the map pack alongside organic rankings.
The results
Users increased 231%, new users 249% and sessions 232%. The redesigned website succeeded because the SEO was treated as part of the launch rather than an afterthought. More in our dental SEO case studies.
